I had a starfox 1 mario chip maskrom before that would only overclock to around 28.322 mhz. I've never once experienced an overheating chip. I have yet to try overclocking a non glob top mario chip. WebI can confirm I've made an NTSC Starfox 2 using NTSC Stunt Race FX, Star fox 2 adapter PCB by The Real Phoenix, and a ST M27C801-90F1 EEPROM.
