WebThe Process of Traffic Counting The Iowa DOT uses manual traffic counters, portable tube counters and Continuous Count Stations (CCS) throughout the state to collect traffic data used in the calculation of Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT). WebThe purpose of a county roadside survey is to begin or continue involvement in the Iowa Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) program, a multiagency effort to plant native plant species in the rights-of-way (ROWs) of Iowa’s road system. The program’s goals, methods, and successes are described in a manual (Brandt, Henderson, & Uthe 2015).
