Re: vinyl siding detail for exhaust duct. j block is generally a 2 piece product, the base of the frame with the duct cutout mounts to the sheathing with the siding being applied up to approx 1/4" away from edge of the block and then the j trim would snap on giving you a clean finished appearance. WebOne of the issues I ran into is that the the space for my dryer was a closet. So the back of the dryer was almost against the wall. That meant that I had to use two 90 degree elbows and they were in the wall. It was a super tight fit since studs are usually 3.5 inches in diameter instead of 4 like a dryer vent tube.
